Merit Gunsight Co. was formed in 1934 by Ralph Albertson,
an avid shooter and a master toolmaker, who recognized the need
for an adjustable iris aperture sight to increase the focal length
of shooters. Over the last 66 years Merit apertures have been
used and passed down from generation to generation. In 1987 the
Grant family purchased Merit and moved the company to upstate New
York. Merit is a family run business committed to quality products
and customer service. We have proudly continued the tradition of
providing shooters with vision and sighting solutions. Thank you
